So, for all those that want the flirting, or the sexual tension, there's not as much as RQ but it was enough to make you stay up thinking about it. This one was more on finding newbloods (that's what they call people like Mare). He made one appearance in the earlier chapters, and she was still able to make me hate him. Then when they would talk about him in Glass Sword, I was like ok yeah someone give him an Oscar. Like the last chapters of RQ was like no that's not Maven it's his mom. The way Victoria Aveyard was able to make me go from loving and wanting to protect Maven to just wanting him dead is just incredible. There might be some for Glass Sword as well. So, yeah there are spoilers for RQ if you haven't read it. I'm assuming everyone has read Red Queen. I am very very very happy with how the book ended and very intrigued for the next book. More violence than before, which is important to the plot and Mares mental health. Minimal romance, but still enough that I would not recommend it to anyone under 10, although it may fly past there heads. Mare becomes selfish and almost greedy the last part of the book, but quickly turns around at the very end when she chooses a choice that makes her much more likable in my eyes. The ending half is the best part of the book. Although this was definitely a more tedious book, it did not make the book any less interesting. I believe that this book sets up a good base for the 3rd book, and helps build ground knowledge heading into it. Keep in mind, this book takes place less than a few weeks when the first book started.

This book takes a deeper dive into the characters thoughts and mental health. CSM says that there is little character development, but I think it is quite the opposite. Personally I think that this book is better than the first.
